Why Sundial Lane

What Makes Our Approach Different

We focus on knowledge transfer, not transactions. Attendees leave with tools they can use independently long after the session ends.

Plain-Language Education

Every session strips away the jargon. We explain what documents say, what they mean, and why they matter — so you understand your own records rather than relying on someone else to interpret them.

Facilitators with Community Experience

Our team draws on years of adult education and community facilitation practice. Sessions are warm, respectful, and paced to the needs of the group — not rushed to cover a checklist.

Practical Materials You Keep

Every attendee receives a physical organising folder, a tailored checklist, and printed reference sheets. These materials are designed to remain useful on the shelf at home for years, not filed away forgotten.

Family-Centred Format

Sessions accommodate multiple generations in the same room. The Family Conversation Planning session is structured specifically so that adult children and their parents can work through topics together, not separately.

No Conflict of Interest

We are an independent educational programme. We hold no referral arrangements with financial institutions, legal firms, or product providers. The information we share serves the household — no one else.

Ongoing Rather Than Once-Off

The Quarterly Document Review programme means your records stay current across the year. Life changes — new statements arrive, details shift — and a regular check-in keeps the folder accurate and usable.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Who are these workshops intended for?
The sessions are designed for Malaysian adults between 45 and 70 who want to understand their own retirement records, as well as adult children helping ageing parents organise their household paperwork. No prior knowledge of financial documents is expected or required — the sessions begin from the basics.
Do the workshops provide financial or legal advice?
No. Sundial Lane is an educational programme. We explain what documents are and what information they contain, but we do not advise on investment decisions, estate planning, or legal matters. For advice in those areas, you should consult a licensed professional.
How many people can attend a session?
The Retirement Records Walkthrough typically runs for small groups of six to twelve participants. The Family Conversation Planning session accommodates two to six members of one family. Private one-on-one walkthroughs are available for the Records session on request.
Where do sessions take place?
Group sessions are held at our space at 38 Jalan Bangsar, 59000 Kuala Lumpur. The Quarterly Document Review programme includes the option of visits to your home or a convenient location of your choosing within the Klang Valley.
What documents should I bring to a workshop?
We send a suggested preparation list when you register. Generally, it is helpful to bring your most recent EPF annual statement, any pension correspondence, and your MyKad. If you do not have these on hand, the session is still useful — we work through what each document looks like and where to obtain it.
Are sessions conducted in English or Bahasa Malaysia?
Group sessions are conducted in English, with Bahasa Malaysia explanations available when participants prefer. Printed materials are available in both languages. Private sessions can be conducted entirely in Bahasa Malaysia upon request.
How do I book a session and what is the payment process?
Submit your enquiry through the contact form below or call us directly. We will confirm availability, share the session date and venue details, and send a payment link by email. Payment is accepted via bank transfer or FPX. Seats are held once payment is received.
